The Dynasphere was a monowheel vehicle patented in 1930 by J. A. Purves, who called it “the high-speed vehicle of the future”; one source, however, reports that “while the [vehicle] could move along just fine, it was almost impossible to steer or brake.” You can watch a video here. (source)
