This miniature reproduction of the West Parlor of George Washington’s Mount Vernon was crafted by Narcissa Niblack Thorne. The photo on the left shows the room being prepared for exhibition at the Baltimore Museum of Art in 1943.
Thorne’s detailed model rooms duplicate with historical accuracy the homes of the elite and wealthy from the late 13th to the early 20th century—and are on display at the Art Institute of Chicago, the Phoenix Art Museum, and the Knoxville Museum of Art. (Sources here and here)
