1975: Huelga and Boycott

Cathy Murphy - Cesar Chavez, Dogs (mid 1970's)

Happy Cesar Chavez Day!

Chavez with his dogs Huelga (“strike”) and Boycott. He originally got them simply as guard dogs, but over time the relationship deepened. Boycott went everywhere with himand he gave credit to both of them for leading him to become a vegetarian and animal rights activist. Photo by Cathy Murphy (mid-1970’s).
